How to Register for CARM
CARM is mandatory for all importers as of October 2024. Without an active account you cannot import goods into Canada.
- 1.Go to the CARM Client Portal
- 2.Sign in using GCKey or Sign-In Partner (banking credentials)
- 3.Create your user profile with your personal information
- 4.Link your business using your Business Number (BN15)
- 5.Verify your identity through the CRA or by mail

How to Delegate Authority to J.W. Smith
- 1.Log into the CARM Client Portal
- 2.On the right-hand side click "Manage Third Party Requests"
- 3.You should see a request from J.W. Smith. (If not, let us know)
- 4.Click Details and select all programs or a single RM program account
- 5.Choose authority level: Business Account Manager or Program Account Manager
- 6.Under "Visibility Rule" check Submitted by (Your Company), then click Approve
